Because there is so much happening in the news, Jimmy Kimmel created his ‘Confusing Question of the Day,’ by jamming a lot of subjects together to create a very confusing question. Kimmel’s crew stationed themselves on Hollywood Boulevard to ask people the following incomprehensible question:
“In light of the recent stock market crash, Donald Trump has vowed to build a wall around Wiz Khalifa to protect Americans from anchor babies. Despite the Iranian nuclear deal, do you also support his proposal’s plan to lower taxes, giving way to newer, better emojis even if it thwarts Harry Styles’ efforts abroad?”
It is demoralizing to note that when faced with that wall of words, people blocked most of it out, and honed in on the words “Protect America from anchor babies” in the way the canine ear will block all else when a dog whistle is blown. Only one person answered using the word ‘buffoonery’ and spoke of Trump’s stunning lack of presidential qualifications. It’s worthy to note, that he was perhaps one of the youngest people to be interviewed.No one focused on the stock market, the nuclear deal or taxes – not even emojis.
I’m not certain what this all tells us – if anything, but I’m feeling a bit conflicted about ‘getting out the vote!’
