Jon Stewart, CPAC Roast of President Obama

These so called "people" have one thing in mind, to use the word "debt" to eliminate the two things they despise most and which they have been single minded in trying to destroy for 80 years – FDR’s New Deal (privatize Social Security) and for 45 years LBJ’s Great Society (privatize Medicare and eliminate Medicaid).

Republican Ronald Reagan borrowed and spent so much he TRIPLED the national debt.
Republican George W. Bush borrowed and spent so much he DOUBLED the national debt.
Republican VP Dick Cheney in answer to the cost of unfunded war in Iraq said "Deficits Don’t Matter."
Bill Clinton cut spending and raised taxes and REDUCED the debt and eliminated the deficit.

The debt today is mostly about Republican policy: Tax breaks for the wealthy, two questionable and unfunded wars and primarily Republican deregulation of the finance industries which caused the need for a trillion in TARP (Republican plan) and a trillion in Stimulus (Democratic plan) to keep the recession from turning into a world wide DEPRESSION. It is the Republicans who caused this and who now want to correct it by handing out more money to the wealthy and throwing the least of us to the wolves. It is the nature of the Beast. And I will be the last to compare them to Hitler, after all, Hitler had a good PE program.

Take a look at who is harmed by the Republican budget plan (and Democrat plan for that matter). As the wealthy bask in their low tax rates (even in a time of war), as the enjoy their multimillion dollar golden parachutes and bonuses, as they collect their unheard of capital gains on UNEARNED INCOME as the nation suffers and  the middle class,  working poor, poor and minorities all are given another nasty kick in the head.

In fact the politics of the day means we can no longer use words like "welfare", "charity", "help", "assistance", "aid" or even "doing good". There are only two words for all that these days, "entitlements" and "socialism." No one is ENTITILED to a decent healthy life in America, not even children.

There are four CHARACTER issues which drive Republican politics: Selfishness, racism, religious intolerance and hating liberals, progressives and Democrats so much they cannot even think straight. It is up to you to put all that in the correct order of importance. I believe it is racism that tops the list. But perhaps 30 years living down here in Dumbutt, Texas has skewered my outlook some.
