Jon Stewart: Gay Marriage ties Republican Justices up in their bigotry

scalia gay marriageA lot on this issue of Gay Marriage these days say what? Gosh. And you know, the media from all directions is missing one important thing. All the punditry of what this will mean or how the Supreme Court will go about it, or what may or may not happen. The universal failing of the media on this is that four of the Justices,  Roberts, Alito, Thomas and Scalia will absolutely decide in favor of DOMA and PROP 8.  They may use circular logic, silly law and their dirty underwear to establish their moral intolerance and personal bigotry, but it goes without saying how they will vote. Perhaps that is the problem? The media assumes too much? That everyone of us already knows how those four Catholics are going to vote so no need to mention it. The only question is how many  jokes FLF Scalia can rip off from under his robes.

There is a bright side to all this. As Uncle Joe would say, a big fking deal. Though it is possible for the GOP to take the Senate and the House over the next few election cycles through gerrymandering and suppressing the vote, it looks like they will not be able to get hold of the White House for at least a dozen years. Which means at least one, or even two or even three of those conservative justices are more than likely to be meeting up with their Virgin in person. And that will change this nation more profoundly than any single election past or present. One small step on the Supreme Court, one giant leap for mankind.
