The top story in this fight against gay marriage comes from Oklahoma where the Republicans just passed a law handing marriage licensing over to churches and preachers so only religious people can get married, or as it is more aptly called, Sharia Law.
Not to be outdone Republicans in Arkansas just passed a law that no city can override their state law that gives Christians the right to fire those they suspect of being Gay. Not sure what the test is. Even Walmart had to speak up against this yet another example of Sharia Law in action.
But Texas takes the cake! Literally by having a state ceremony in Austin cutting a cake commemorating the Texas Gay Marriage ban from 10 years ago and still celebrating! With Republicans doing all the cake cutting celebrating of course.
But not even that surpasses Republican Texas State Representative Tony Tinderholt who crawled up from the slime to override the only gay marriage performed in Texas. A judge married the lesbian couple only because one of the lesbians is dying of ovarian cancer and probably would not last until the coming Supreme Court decision. BTW, Tony Tinderholt is on his fifth marriage, so much like Rush Limbaugh who is on his fourth, marriage is something he knows a lot about. Tinderhold is also one of our TROOPS so hands off please. No disparaging remarks. He is a hero!
Have you noticed how The American Map of Stupid never seems to vary much. It always covers the same region, slave states with a few bordering states on the Northern slope and then a Western left leg up the middle of the country through the Dakotas? But always including the slave states, the Jim Crow states, the lynching states and those leg up Midwestern states where no one lives. Add to that the horror of okra, kudzu, white gravy, racism, bigotry, homophobia, assault rifles and Rick Perry and it brings some gravitas to what Elsa sang so well, LET IT GO. Talk about bad students dumbing down the rest of the class, gosh…
