Down here in Dumbutt we all know Ron Paul quite well since his run for President as the Libertarian candidate in 1988. If fact it was the year Americans got their real first taste of what the Libertarian Party was about.
I even watched the LP convention on CSPAN. After the three days were over I learned a few very important things. First of all that LIBERTY did not include women who choose to have abortions. No Platform. Secondly, that they Party had it’s biggest historic surge because after Pat Robertson lost the Michigan Republican Primary and dropped out, upwards of 200,000 Evangelical Fundamentalist Christians joined the LP. And lastly from the looks of the convention attendees, there must have been a requirement that each biker bring one nerd.
Kelly Clarkson a NASCAR queen from Dallas, Texas recently tweeted that she is a Ron Paul lady and will vote for him. Clarkson’s political and intellectual credentials aside, she does represent that group of intensely clueless voters.
First off let’s get the two good things about Ron Paul out of the way:
Ron Paul is anti present and future war.
He wants to legalize pot.
And here is the list of the insane crap from Ron Paul:
He wants to eliminate Social Security.
He wants to eliminate Medicare.
He wants to eliminate Medicaid.
He wants to eliminate Food Stamps.
He wants to eliminate Unemployment Compensation.
He wants to eliminate FEMA.
He wants to eliminate Dept of Energy.
He wants to eliminate Dept of Commerce.
He wants to eliminate Dept of Education.
He wants to eliminate Dept of Interior.
He wants to eliminate Dept of HUD.
He wants to eliminate Clean Air Act.
He wants to eliminate the EPA.
He wants to eliminate unions. (right to work)
He wants to eliminate OSHA.
He wants to eliminate all gun controls.
He wants to eliminate foreign Aid (including Israel)
He wants to eliminate the IRS.
He wants to eliminate income taxes.
He wants to eliminate progressive taxation.
He wants to eliminate public education.
He wants to privatize the street you live on.
He wants to feed unpasteurized milk to children.
He wants to go back to pre Civil War States Rights.
He wants to allow states to punish baby murdering Doctors and mothers as they see fit (you know what that means in Texas)
He wants to allow sates to punish homosexuals as they see fit (see above).
He wants to pull out of the United Nations.
He wants to legalize methamphetamine.
He wants to legalize OxyCotin.
He wants to legalize crack cocaine.
He wants to legalize heroin.
He is an Evangelical Christian Fundamentalist and creationist.
He is a bigot and a racist.
And you know, just any one of those things could turn this nation into a Mad Max movie.
So what is it about Kelly Clarkson and Ron Paul’s following?
Do they really want this kind of selfish Right-wing swill set upon the land?
Or are they just so attached to their little pocket hydro pipes that they don’t know what the Hell is going on?
