Indeed, let’s put it all on the table. Mental Health, violence in games and movies, and gun controls. But you see, the Gun lobby and the Gun lunatics will not do the same. They flat out refuse to even consider restrictions on military assault rifles and extended magazines. Understand, it is not just the paranoid lunatics and gun manufacturers, for as of yet, NO REPUBLICAN in the House or Senate who plans to stay an ELECTED REPUBLICAN has come out for any gun control measure at all. The same extremism we have with Republicans regarding both abortion and Grover Norquist’s no tax pledge. Beware that we now have three extreme over the top Tea Party lunatics in the Senate who have the power of the filibuster to throw a wrench into everything sensible they can get their hands on, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and Tim Scott.
I agree that there is way too much violence in the movies and in computer games. And both Hollywood and the EA should take some responsibility. Especially television which plays the worst of the bunch, old Clint Eastwood and John Wayne movies. The blood and gore of today’s movies are not as offensive as the MAKE MY DAY, I enjoy killing, I want to kill, and killing is fun attitude both Eastwood and Wayne extrude in most of their movies. I watched a John Wayne movie from 1972 the other night called BIG JAKE. You know, one of those many movies where Wayne wears that hat and that scarf and enjoyably kills a few dozen people. This one struck me because he is constantly threatening to kill everyone, including his own sons. Threatening to kill your children is FUN. Blowing someone’s head off with a .44 magnum is what makes Clint Eastwood happy. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
As to more mental health care. Yeah right. Republicans are going to raise taxes to cover mental health care for everyone. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? They don’t even consider mental health a health issue!
Part II
The people we are up against in this debate are some of the most paranoid Right-wing nutjobs in America. We are bowing to the Ted Nugents of this world in allowing them to control this issue. How about some crazy Right-wing mf controls? Anyone want to talk about how most of these mass murderers are also gun nuts? The fear Fox News and Talk Radio instill in million of not the smartest of Americas needs to be controlled too. I have an idea. As Fox news is so into being so Fair and Balanced. Let’s require all radio stations to have as much left as the do right each day. But as I am sure you are well aware, any form of fairness is Marxism.
