From what I have been reading this morning, there seems to be no stopping the Republicans congress shutting down the government over these highly edited [extremely edited regards Carly Fiorina’s reference to a chopped up living fetus on a Planned Parenthood table] videos of interviews with Planned Parenthood employees talking about the PERFECTLY LEGAL issue of medical use of fetus tissue that women volunteer to help medical advancement in many areas.
No matter this coming shutdown, which neither Boehner or McConnell can stop, will further hurt the Republican brand as it has every time before insuring yet another Democratic win in the general election.
They do this trying to present themselves as even more intolerant as the one standing next to them, to win over the Republican Base for the nomination. Ya know, the Republican Base should find a homeland in the Middle East where they belong. But the issue for the candidates is that few of them re able to think more than 6 months into the future.
You know it was Protestant Americans who lobbied state by state and then federally to protect women from the butchery, suicides and death caused by illegal abortions. Then suddenly in 1980 two people got together to turn against the women of America and their right to choose by creating what we now call the Religious Right with abortion being the driving force issue. Stand up and applaud Jerry Falwell and Ronald Reagan.
And still today as we can see from the debates religious intolerance and ethnic bigotry have become the very soul of the Republican Base who controls the nomination process.
