Lewis Black hit it on the head with that 1950’s quip without actually saying the name. Joe McCarthy. That’s who Ted Cruz is but without the alcohol eating away his brain. Which makes him even more dangerous that McCarthyism.
If you have ever seen McCarthy on video, the similarities cannot be missed, not only the physical mannerisms, that finger pointing lecturing, accusing others of being unAmerican or socialists. but also that Jimmy Swaggart preacher stage presence.
Most people are underestimating Ted Cruz. When he speaks down here in Texas he gets standing ovations that last longer than his speeches. Easily he has more charisma than all the other dozen GOP candidates combined. He can also out debate them all with half his brain tied behind his back.
Imagine you are a pig farmer in Iowa who talks to Jesus and has seen Bigfoot in your backyard. What better choice could there be than Ted Cruz? Well… There is The Donald who just put a halt to his show Celebrity Apprentice which means he may really run this time around. That would put the smartest man in the GOP up against the dumbest. What a show for the debates that would be.
And what about Amy Holmes? Have you heard? Glenn Beck left the Republican Party the other day angry about them not rounding up and deporting all 11 million Mexicans. Amy Holmes is his top host over at his BLAZE TV. DId she have to leave the GOP too?
I remember Amy Holmes from just a few weeks ago on The Nightly Show. She was asked who she would vote for, a full racist republican or a democrat. It was not so much the expected answer, “the racist” but that it came in a nanosecond without a thought. She has her finger on the pulse of African American culture.
