John Oliver uses ‘Last Week Tonight’ in an effort to save Antarctica. If you weren’t aware that Antarctica needed saving, you will be aware by the end of this video – and chances are, you’ll immediately plan a vacation in the land of penguins and melting glacial ice. Don’t do it!
John just wants to tell tourists and daft morning show hosts that tourism is ruining the fragile environment. A negative advertisement campaign is needed. So don’t go there! Just go to Alaska, your friends won’t know the difference when you post your travel photos on your Facebook page…A win-win for everyone! The number one reason people state for visiting Antarctica is to see the penguins. Surely you have a zoo nearby?
You’ll be convinced (I should hope) once you see the great footage of morning show hosts kayaking, the better to gobble up a 400 thousand year old snow cone. It’s very fresh and delicious I hear. Another seems to be going native and fairly creepy, if ‘native’ for her is penguin.
If you’re still not convinced and long to feel the bracing cold on your skin…John has a suggestion for you manly men out there. I hope you have a side-by-side freezer, or it may be extremely difficult to experience this one without a chair on which to stand. Just trust me.
