On Last Week Tonight, John Oliver says they should have seen the escape of the notorious drug lord Joaquin Guzman, AKA El Chapo coming. If you see only one pulse-pounding escape this year – see ‘El Chapo goes to the shower!’ Or…Possibly El Chapo goes to the toilet. Both facilities were hidden from jailer’s eyes Oddly, cameras were not trained on the half-hidden shower and toilet corner of the drug lord’s cell, which had been walled off ‘to preserve his dignity.’ Guzman is seen walking into the area – and vanishing behind the partition. When a sophisticated mile of tunnel was found with the entrance in the shower wall, authorities marveled.
John tells us authorities needn’t have been surprised, El Chapo escaped from the Mexican military over one year ago – using a bathtub as the tunnel entrance. You cannot believe this man when he tells you how important cleanliness and privacy are to him! Best of all, call him Joaquin Guzman or ‘Super Psycho Mario’ – his area of expertise is well known, he is a tunnel expert. Who’d have seen this coming?
