In one of David Letterman’s funniest Top Ten lists this year, Dave wonders what Jeb Bush must be asking himself, as he goes about the business of ‘actively exploring’ a run for the Rose Garden in 2016. It was just a short time ago that Jeb Bush told hopeful Republicans, that he was most definitely not considering a run for the presidency. Pressed for clarification, he made it known that he meant ‘not now, not ever.’
As if to remove all doubt, the commander of the Bush forces informed the media that the Bush family had given enough to this country. Barbara Bush bluntly stated that it was time for some other family to contribute their best and brightest, heaven knows the Bush family has given until it hurts.
As you can see, by his pensive appearance, Jeb must take many things into consideration. There’s the family reputation to uphold, and how do you top Dick Cheney as a running mate? I personally want to know if ‘Jeb’ is short for a longer name. Let’s face it “Abe” Lincoln or “Ted” Roosevelt sound a bit informal as would Ace or , and Jeb sounds as if The Beverly Hillbillies were inspiration.
