Unlike alcohol the vast majority of people find smoking marijuana a downer that makes them paranoid, sleepy and hungry. The user base of marijuana is somewhere between one fifth and one tenth that of alcohol. But for the few who do partake it makes the little things in life much more interesting. The art museum is a gas, the regular museum is fun, the zoo is a delight, sex is better and TV becomes watchable. In fact one can get stuck on the Family Guy just as easy as How It’s Made or Stephen Hawkings. None of which can be said of beer, though it must be said football games are better with beer, or at least that’s what they tell us when we watch football games.
Pot makes an often boring world a little more interesting with little kickback. Also marijuana does not have the equilibrium and extroversion issues that cause so many problems with alcohol.
Sure growing brains should stay away from it just as they should stay away from beer. And it does curtail motivation, but in this hustle bustle American world of ours we seem to be going too fast anyway. We need to slow down a bit, live a little longer, have a few laughs, enjoy…
