Here on the last day before the election we see a splurge of McCain advertising linking Barack Obama to Reverend Jeremiah Wright and the Trinity United Church of Christ. It is not so much that John McCain strongly declared he would not GO THERE and is anyway (that has been what Maverick has come to mean in this election) but his reasoning for not going there was he did not want to bring race into the election. Come on…
The top laugh line for Republicans this election cycle – first uttered by Rudy Giuliani, used by Sarah Palin and the GOP pundits – is the newest Republican synonym for “the N Word”, Community Organizer! You know, like Jesus, Gandhi and Martin Luther King. And worse they were all UN AMERICA!
Nothing sillier than going out to help the poor for little money! How laughable!
But the big unsaid issue in all this is that Rev Wright and Trinity Church are what most African American churches are like and what they preach. McCain understood that and that using the Rev Wright issue was not just a kick in the head to Obama but to all African Americans. Its the kind of thing losers do.
