@Midnight: Rand Paul Swag & Fake Photo Scandal

@Midnight with Chris Hardwick: Rand Paul Swag & Fake Photo Scandal Chris Hardwick and the comedians @Midnight visit Paul’s swag site in the ‘Random Refresh’ round. They must guess which of the following  Rand Paul branded products are actual Rand Paul swag. I invite you to challenge yourself to guess which of the following trio of absurdly sad and ironic items are for sale on Rand Paul’s site. Oh, BTW, the price  is a mere $20.00

A. “I Stand with Rand” flip flops (no irony intended)                                      B. “Don’t Drone Me, Bro!” t-shirt    or C. “A genine DR Rand Paul eye chart” What other items do you think Rand Paul would  be likely to stock in his web store?

Disclaimer: Chris promises that his show is non-partisan. If you hear him say something nasty about Rand Paul; be assured, he is honor bound to say something equally snarky about Hillary…If – she changes her party, all of her policies and  beliefs, her history,  or  lies like a rug and smirks like a simpleton under a fluffy feather hat.

Can Rand Paul have intended the items on his oddball site to be so sadly ironic ? My guess is that the person who organized the site and the swag, also did the graphics for Paul’s campaign. This brings us to Rand Paul’s
kick azz campaign starter map graphic.  You can  see a small section in the thumbnail photo The map of the United States is dotted with photos of smiling ‘Rand Paul supporters.’  Who wouldn’t join this good-looking, relatively sane group of people – if they weren’t Rand Paul supporters.  His policies may have changed, but Paul’s long history of   lies and plagiarism continues.  You see, those attractive, smiling people are actually faces that  Rand Paul purchased from a German stock photo company – and they don’t know Rand Paul. Chances are, they’ve never even heard the name.

I have to wonder what message this sends to Rand Paul’s actual supporters,  who have dug deep and given him the money to run his campaign. Paul’s actions seem to imply that taking photos of the ‘real’ people who support him, and using them in his ads is simply not an option. It would have been free and honest. Using their faces would also be a small payback for their generosity. The message seems to be, ‘Thanks to your donation, we were able to purchase some photogenic Germans to replace your mug.’

What would have happened if Barack Obama had used stock German (Icelandic or even Balinese) stock photos in his ads?   I think we all know; the Tea Party, Swift Boaters, Birthers, Republicans and a host of wackos would have claimed it as proof of his ties to anti-colonial Kenya!  If that made no sense, than I did express it perfectly.

I’m not trying to suggest that Rand Paul would look adorable in a Hitler Youth ensemble…But, do we really know where he was born…Truly?
