Just a tip for all of you well-meaning folks who are considerate and send cards. If you’re sending a musical greeting card, at least warn someone! An elderly Berlin man was forced to call the police on his neighbors, and who wouldn’t under the same circumstances. Others without close neighbors might wonder if they were no longer wrapped tightly, or believe they were sharing their home with a ghostly prankster!
At all hours, he would hear the same annoying tune. Imagine how disconcerting it would be to hear it at varying intervals, around the clock, and for varied amounts of time. He never knew when it would strike, why his neighbors were keeping
such odd hours, and probably why they had such tiresome taste in music!
A bit of detective work found that the musical greeting card on the window sill was the source of the impromptu concerts. With the card propped open, a breeze would hit just enough to start the card. Needless to say, peace reigns with the man and his neighbors It wasn’t said whether they too had ‘enjoyed’ the concert.
Personally, I doubt he’ll ever wish to hear that tune again!
