Liberals! Democrats! Progressives! This is a lesson I learned a very long time ago. Do not discuss BLACKNESS with your black friends. We are curious, we want to understand, we want to reach out, we want our empathy to be known. But it always causes trouble. Let it be. As the friendships grow, all that works out with time.
