Of course this does not exist in real life if you listen to Bill O’Reilly. Or for that matter all of Fox News, Rush Limbaugh all of talk radio, and the entire Republican party. Racism not only had nothing to do with the Zimmerman trial, racism is just an invention of Al Sharpton to destroy America.
You know I was once from the old school that racism and racists was on the wane, that it was getting better, disappearing. Then 35 years ago I moved to Texas and found just how little things had changed in most of the South. I came to slowly see the glass half empty. But it was not until 2009 when a Blackman became President that I realized the glass was empty.
The racist blowback to a black family in the White House is almost as bad as the blowback 50 years ago from integration and the civil rights movement. It’s no longer water hoses and dogs, it’s redistricting and voter suppression.
This comes back to the POV gene and empathy. What if YOU had been born black in a project? Where would you be today? I addressed that on my 21st birthday when I told a friend, you know, with my rebellious nature, had I been born black, I would be in jail or dead by now. The central problem is White Republicans are not able to see themselves as anything other than White Republicans.
