North Carolina: Pastor Charles Worley Preaches Christian Hate a-gin Homosexuals
on May 22, 2012 at 9:04 am
He is A-GIN it! What is it that can cause people to actually go to this scumbag’s church and listen to his hateful swill? What is it that turns people into intolerant hate filled bigots? What can it be that takes standard but kindly ignorant Southerners and turn into ignorant assholes? What has that power? Whatever it is, it is doing this nation – and this world – far more bad than good.
Over the past generation or so, - since the rise of Jerry Falwell and company using it as a political tool to promote Right-wing extremism - the word RELIGION has become synonymous with bigotry, intolerance and more pushing out more hate than love.
In the last 10 years twice as many people have run away from it than ever before, which is on the upswing. It has gotten so bad that when someone says they are a Christian all that comes to mind is close minded asshole rather than close minded nitwit.

Bubba,
In all seriousness, how do you reconcile the fact that 10,000 people just showed up when 700 jobs were announced, with your, “laying around palying Madden” concept. I’m not trying to “jerk your chain”; I really want to know.
Actually Ms. ‘Cat the IRS is quite limited in their ability to pursue tax cheats. I don’t remember all the figures, but the enforcement division has a hard fight for its’ budget each year despite the fact that the Govt. gets many more dollars back for each one spent on enforcement.
Then there’s the whole issue of American multi-millionaires packing up & moving to Singapore.
Bubba,
I don’t much know what that Pastor’s Congregation does on their spare time, but seeing the grey hair, I’d suspect it’s not playing video games. But they are there on your dime as I pointed out before. Equally I suspect that not many of them work either.
But are you running the “Bums on relief don’t want to work” argument? You know the same argument was used in the 1930s during the last Great Depression. Wasn’t true then & it isn’t true now. By & large unemployed Folks want to work, the jobs just aren’t out there. The local McDonalds won’t hire a kid these days unless he’s bilingual.
You both give excellent examples of this hypocrisy. Frankly, I wasn’t aware of what had caused the LDS to see the light about allowing ALL of their brethren to participate. Jimmy Carter doesn’t always get credit for the good he’s done.
I suspect our economy would start to flourish if we set the IRS loose on them with the same zeal they pursue the average tax payer in arrears.
Bubba,
I’ve got some bad news for you.
You know, the Pastor’s Church? The one the Prof. thinks ought to be investigated for violating tax laws? Well, that Church (probably) pays its’ pastor a salary. It gets money from contributions. Now those contributions are Federally tax deductible. That is the members of the Church get to not count the money they give as income for tax purposes. Which means that you, me, the Prof., Ms. ‘Cat, all of us; wind up paying higher taxes so that these yahoos can spend tax free money on this Church & its’ Pastor.
Now the trade off for this deduction is that the Churches aren’t allowed to engage in lots of stuff but politics is one of them. When this Pastor stated whom the Congregation ought to (not) vote for; he crossed that line & the Prof is on solid ground asking for an investigation.
As an example; there was a religion that thought that Black Folks were marked with the sign of Cain (or somesuch, memory is hazy) & so they couldn’t be “priests” as was required of all young men in that religion. Then President Carter called in the head of that religion & told him that the practice was blatant racial discrimination & illegal. The Head of the Church answered that the President of the United States couldn’t tell that Church what to believe. President Carter answered that that was true. He wasn’t telling the Church what to believe but only what qualified their Congregants to deduct the (hefty) Church Donations on their taxes. The Chruch shortly thereafter had a revelation from God now allowing young Black Men toi be priests.
People who make donations WORK for a living. People who give to charities are not laying around playing xbox Madden NFL all day on my dime.
If I were resident and a video like this surfaced, the church would be receiving a visit from the IRS. Just like the Catholic Church should be losing its tax-exempt status for refusing to cooperate with the healthcare law. If you are not going to render upon Caesar what is Caesar’s then up yours!
whoops, that’s “president” not “resident”!
Who cares what some Preacher says, at least he has a job and is working. Not being supported by my tax money.
Here’s an idea for the ‘good’ Pastor. Build the fenced-in areas, and at the very center place his church and have him and the rest of his bigot flock be the food source for the detainees. Good eatin’, for sure.
