While dodging public outrage over the most unpopular healthcare bill ever – Republicans are gobsmacked to learn that President Obama warned Trump long ago not to hire Michael Flynn. When Flynn’s shenanigans were made public, Trump stepped up to the plate – and blamed Obama for poor vetting. Mind, it is public knowledge that Obama fired Flynn in 2014. However, today when it was confirmed that Obama did warn Trump about Flynn, Trump maturely took the blame for not vetting Flynn.
Gotcha! It’s still Obama’s fault. Trump says he ‘thought Obama was kidding.’ If one thing is apparent in the Obama-Trump meetings, it is a high level of jocularity on matters of national security.
Meanwhile, Republicans are more scarce than Easter Eggs, and are almost all unwilling to face the open hostility of their constituents. In two known cases, Democrats from adjoining districts stepped in to talk with those who gathered in town halls minus their Republican representatives.
Gosh, it was fun when Trump made an aside to the Australian PM, admitting:”You have better health care than we do.” For one brief moment, some dared to hope that Trump can tell single payer from a turnip. Undoubtedly, it was a nasty crack about Obamacare, and a bit of a brag about the shiny new GOP bill…But if it gave Bernie Sanders one moment of unadulterated fun, it was worthwhile! Laughter is the best medicine – and the only prescription covered on the Trump-Ryancare bill.
