Olbermann: Political Terrorism Countdown. Bush Ignored Real Bin Ladin Threats

The fire storm Tom Ridge started, which we posted last night regarding use of Homeland Security for political gain by Bush, Rumsfeld, and Ashcroft leads to further revelations. Keith counts down our near decade of terror, both real and
manufactured. Colin Powel expresses his feelings about what amounted to a goose chase for WMD’s.

If anything is more inexcusable than the obvious way the public and others working for the Bush administration were manipulated, it’s the fatal and intentional blindness to the genuine threats, by those sworn to lead and protect us. I’ve always been astounded that this has been downplayed. Keith lists false warnings through the years in chronological order. He also lists instances where then
president Bush ignored a very real and urgent advance notice of the terrorist attack to come! Another memo which pointed to the terrorists, and the location where they were learning to fly – but not land, has been reported by an FBI employee and seen by the president, yet it too was ignored! Together, the memos gave the FBI all of the information needed to seek out the men who would later change this country forever. It may surprise some, but they had passive help from the oval office.

The glory of going to war obviously loomed larger than potential heroism in stopping the attack, by those who could intercept the attackers. Why is this not considered murder? In a sick irony, polls showed that in the aftermath of 9/11,
people felt “safe” and that Bush had done “a good job” unaware that the “job” he’d done was to allow it to happen to further his goals. Watch Worst for the chronological order of the real and “looming” attacks, you just may see a pattern
emerge.
