Perhaps Mr. Jillette has something there. This surge of Christian Stupidity we are witnessing in the takeover of the Republican Party could very well be an act of desperation in seeing the writing on the wall. People are getting smarter no matter how hard the Religious Right tries to dumb them down.
Perhaps this very same process is at play with the Republican Party going over the top into the politics of White-Wing Shitism. The demographics cannot be ignored, this present surge of intolerance and bigotry could also be an act of desperation for a political party on their way to oblivion.
Perhaps all this talk about Obama losing to the GOP next year is just Republican propaganda, media hype to keep us tuned in and Democrats crying wolf to get the vote out.
But then again, Americans are far dumber than we give them credit for…
