Seth Meyers takes a closer look at the recent indictments of anti-abortion activists and the grand jury’s investigation of Planned Parenthood. This surely isn’t what the ‘Center for Medical Progress’ – read zealots, had in mind when they made those videos, and told everyone it depicted Planned Parenthood callously selling fetal tissue from a living, viable baby.
After a month-long grand jury investigation, Planned Parenthood has been exonerated of all wrongdoing, and CMP has been charged with the purchase of Human organs..To use as props, in their movies.
Despite the court ruling, people will go on believing those videos, and they’ll be helped in that belief by politicians who’ve made political hay with the gore.What effect could this legal judgement have on the presidential race? Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Mike Huckabee and of course Carly Fiorina appear to be in denial, as is Fox News. They continue to spout false allegations and defend the indicted zealots. Surely they know – deep down, that a grand jury in Texas – of all places is not impaneled with so-called liberal baby killers.
Thanks, Texas. Abortion is such a small part of what Planned Parenthood does, and what those people did, in manipulating people’s emotions is – as one of the candidates says, huuuuuge.
