As expected, even before Pope Francis is to address the US Congress later today, he has the Republicans poopin’ wafers and peeing wine over his comments on immigration, economics and global warming – so much so expect Republicans later today to be sitting on their hands or perhaps even a “YOU LIE!” from one of their finest.
We should of course give credit where credit is due, the American Republican Party is the only entity in the world that does not only refuse the right to universal health care, but also to deny the existence of global warming. Here! Hear! Let’s hear it from American Exceptionalism! Marching to a different drummer!
The newest and craziest Republican in congress these days is Representative Paul Gosar from Arizona who is loudly boycotting the speech by Pope Francis to Congress for specifically lying about global warming.
Mr Gosnar if you recall became famous for going to the rescue of bigot, racist, and scofflaw Cliven Bundy. To defend him and those aiming assault rifles and state and federal police officers so Mr Bundy would not have to pay back grazing fees everyone else is required to pay.
Cliven Bundy good! Pope Francis bad! American Republicans are the largest and most powerful right-wing political party in the world. And they got that way primarily though Jesus Christ. Not the Pope one, the Jerry Falwell one.
