‘If only there had been a ‘good guy with a gun’ is always heard in the aftermath of a gun-fueled massacre. Surfing on a wave of fear and false information, Americans are armed to the teeth and many, inspired by action heroes and old westerns believe they will put an end to any bad guys they encounter with the help of their trusty concealed weapon.
A pro-gun Texas group set out to prove that armed civilians would have turned the tide of the Charlie Hebdo disaster. The results of the re-enactment were a wake-up call to one group of Texans. It appears that all would-be heroes are fooling themselves. After all, law enforcement has long claimed that guns are a weapon that favors the aggressor.
The controlled study documented in these videos show that concealed carry permit holders are fooling themselves if they think they will be able to react effectively to armed aggressors.
