The Immigration Reform Bill seems to now be dead in the water. A nice hard Republican slap in the face to Hispanics. I wonder if the GOP can get them up to voting 95% Democrat like African Americans do?
Love the ending! I wonder if the GOP can find the logic and the law to deport the descendents of slaves. After all they were not only NOT citizens but only 3/5 human. There could be an opening there. With the present Supreme Court having Antonin Scalia and Uncle Clarence Thomas it’s a real possibility. In fact now that I think about it, shouldn’t Uncle Clarence only count for 3/5 of a vote?
Another demography they are losing is single women. I wonder how they can suppress that vote? They could pass some sort of Defense of Marriage and Citizenship bill. That only married women can become citizens and vote. If I recall that would be somewhat the opposite of what the situation was before Suffrage. In those days it was the married women who had no rights, not the single women. So the GOP could sell this idea as a NEW IDEA.
But what about the young people they are losing? Repeal the 26th Amendment and jack up the voting age to 31.
And the poor? Who cares they don’t vote.
