Rick Santorum explains liberal conspiracy to rewrite history

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Presidential hopeful Rick Santorum is campaigning on the real issues for those who are jobless, homeless and without health care… Irony intended. He’s found another liberal conspiracy! Liberals are leading kids astray with their commie History texts. This – from a man whose party is represented by the ever-creative, but non-factual Sarah Palin, and Michele Bachmann, which leads me to wonder whether Santorum ever has read about or seen the duo on TV?

Keep in mind that Texas has revamped textbooks to meet their own conservative standards, a move which has reached far beyond Texas. Other states have been assigned the crippling texts, which it seems, would leave the blame on conservatives. While their reach is wide and eliminates mentions of minority culture and science as we know it. But there is room to mention a few changes of their changes including a greater emphasis on "the conservative resurgence of the 1980s and 1990s." This means not only increased favorable mentions of Schlafly, the founder of the anti-feminist Eagle Forum, but also more discussion of the Moral Majority, the Heritage Foundation, the National Rifle Association and Newt Gingrich’s Contract With America. Who needs Thomas Jefferson?
