Oscar-winning actor and screen legend Robert De Niro was asked to make an ad to help get out the vote, but it is now on the cutting room floor, because of his anti-Trump sentiment. I should correct that statement. It’s on the cutting room floor because of De Niro’s pro-American sentiment. The ad was commissioned by the non partisan group #voteourfuture. Still, it seems a shame that his honest views weren’t aired, along with his message… ‘If you care for your future, vote for it!’
In the likely event that the video is removed, De Niro’s words follow, although a written transcript doesn’t do them justice. This isn’t a crazy rant, directed at an empty chair. This is a heartfelt, honest expression by one of the people who can see that the Emperor clearly has no clothes, and it ain’t pretty!
