Santorum’s Campaign Song ‘Take Back America’ As Anthem for Native Americans!

Native Americans Agree With Santorum Campaign Song it's time to "Take Back America"

Rick Santorum announced his intention to run for president – again, with his country campaign anthem declaring It’s time to “Take Back America.”   Of course this begs the eternal, infernal question; who or what has ‘Murica?

This isn’t the official version of Santorum’s little ditty. Oh sure, the twangy sound track is the same, but the imagery by Ricardo Medina shows the people who could legitimately claim America, and put an end to the snarky immigration arguments raised by the Right.  There are  wonderful old portraits of  Native Americans, as well as one of President Obama at home in a crowd of adorable Native American kiddies. You might want to turn the sound down and just enjoy the imagery.

We caught a hint of who Santorum might want to take America back from in the last go-round, where he stopped just short of calling Obama the “N-word” during a speech.  I suspect people of color, homo sex-yas, im’grants and po’ folks who aren’t workin’ are playing keep-away with America according to Santorum and his  ilk.

.If you want to spare your ears, I can tell you who the song implies Santorum wants to help, although I doubt he’s acquainted with even one of the following: Factory workers, “the men, makin’ drive-trains, and the farmers workin’ the wheat-fields.”  Always popular are the “preachers, the teachers the blue-collar believers.” It seems their ” dreams are on the line.” What?  There’s more…”Drivers carrying them heavy loads, the nine-to-fivers, my mother, my father, my son, my daughter – whose dreams lay on the line.”

Pick ’em up! You believers and dreamers, flick yer Bics and wave them in the air…And pick up those dreams – the ones layin’ on the line. It’s a mess down there. Rick Santorum is going to promise you stuff..Exactly what, seems to be up to your own interpretation.
