The devil works in mysterious ways. This presents an issue I came to understand back in 1993 when Rush Limbaugh had succeeded in changing the nature of AM Radio and the impetus of this website. That though it seems to be race and religion that drive Republican politics, even more than that it is a seething overwhelming hatred of liberals that is the most central dynamic of their politics. It is not so much differing world views, but differing galactic views. Driven by hate.
Why is that?
True story. My best friend and his new wife came to stay a week with us down here in Dumbutt. His wife and I hit it off terribly from the gitgo. She left in such a huff that I lost my old best friend over it. And even though he saw the light and divorced her a couple years later, the friendship was never repaired.
At the time I thought it was about her shallow world of fashion and sneering at those who did not come up to snuff in her accessory laden world. After relating the story to my mother, I was told that I was wrong, it was a matter of jealousy.
Here I was down here with a college education, a beautiful wife, a cute little girl and little boy, a very handsome and well behaved golden retriever all happy and not content.
My Mother was right. It is the same thing that drives Republican politics, hatred of liberals who are smarter, better educated and much better looking than they conservatives. Having to deal with that pain every time the open the door overwhelms them putting them into constant state of anger. God is cruel. How they made in their own image.
