This Bagley cartoon struck me as being very brave in the world of newspaper editorial cartoons, portraying as it does American Evangelical Christianity as ISIS with AK47s, Islamic black burkas and face masks. ON NO! What will American Evangelical Christians have to say about this? I would guess just as they said about President Obama who reminded them that they have blood on their hands too at that recent prayer breakfast, that the cartoonist is in support of Islamic terrorism and hates God and America.
Why would anyone hate God? After all, ISIS is doing just what God commanded.
“The whole land of Canaan, where you now reside as a foreigner, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God.” Genesis 17:8
“Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.” God, Numbers 31:17-18
And of course my personal favorite, another from God himself. Note that ISIS gathered round to kill the Jordanian pilot who dropped bombs on them not for preparing to cook a chicken, which sadly enough, puts ISIS a step above God.
“And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the Sabbath day. And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation. And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him. And the Lord said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: All the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp. And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the Lord commanded Moses.” Numbers 15:32 – 15:36
