Scott Roeder, The face of the recent Fox News Sponsored Tea Parties

Reading up on Mr Roeder one aspect of his politics trumps his rabid pro-life beliefs, his intense Christian religion and Libertarian views. For above all else his act of terrorism grew out of his anti-government beliefs; primarily that property rights transcend all, taxation is theft and the government is the problem not the solution. Though these issues played at the top of the list of the FOX NEWS CHANNEL sponsored tea parties recently, they come not from Fox News but from the icon of the Republican Party, Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan is the father of the hate the government rhetoric that just about destroyed American over these last two years. And why the politics of deregulation, looking out only for the wealthy and religious intolerance has also just about destroyed the Republican Party. [who are thankfully, sticking to their guns so to say]

Here are the quotes that Reagan pounded into us so often that the dull minded and mentally unstable had no choice but to blindly accept it. Much as they did 20 Mule Team Borax 20 years earlier hawked by the same embodiment of lipstick on a pig. The same cycle seems to be at play again as few of us even remember washing our underwear with 20 Mule Team Borax. The quotes:

Government is not the solution, government is the problem.

The most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the government and I’m here to help.

Unemployment insurance is a pre-paid vacation for freeloaders.

Man is not free unless government is limited.

The government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

One way to make sure crime doesn’t pay would be to let the government run it.

People do not make wars; governments do.

Today, if you invent a better mousetrap, the government comes along with a better mouse.

The best minds are not in government. If any were, business would steal them away.

Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them.

Government exists to protect us from each other. Where government has gone beyond its limits is in deciding to protect us from ourselves.

Government is like a baby. An alimentary canual with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other.

Governments tend not to solve problems, only to rearrange them.

Pounded into us for 8 years non stop. More on Ronald Reagan, the Ultimate Lipstick on a pig.
