The top billionaire loser of 2008 are rags to riches casino mogul Sheldon Adelson who lost $20 billion of his $24 billion. Runners up were Warren Buffet with a loss of $16 billion, Bill Gates losing $12 billion, Google’s Larry Page and Sergey Brin who lost $11 billion each.
But far and above, or below, the money trail is perhaps the biggest loser in the financial world of shoulda woulda, Yahoo’s Founder and CEO Jerry Yang who refused to take Microsoft’s bid of $31 a share plus a 60% premium for a grand total of $44 billion. Yahoo now sits at $12 a share.
