Had the President been awake for the debate and made it boring wash as it looked to be for the first half hour, instead of so many crying in their beer and talk of President Romney, this week’s talking points would be the enjoyment Mitt Romney took in not only firing Big Bird, but personally firing the moderator Jim Lehrer. No out of context crap about “I LIKE FIRING PEOPLE!” And men in bird suits… The joy and glee Romney showed in that minute would have been the taking point of the debate rather than a disengaged President being given his walking papers.
Whatever the reason for the horrible performance by Obama, what he and his campaign seemed to miss, is that 70 million people were watching. When he gives one of his standing alone good speeches on the trail few are watching.
