As you may have heard, Donald Trump has given up Oreos since Nabisco said they would now make them in Mexico, which gives Stephen Colbert the opportunity to eat a whole box of Oreos.
This piece on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert about Donald Trump was classic Stephen Colbert from The Colbert Report. A good sign that the funny old Comedy Central political humor is carried over at least to some degree.
The Jeb! Bush interview was far more amiable than his treatment of Republicans on his old show but a Jib Jab Jeb none the less. The celebrity interview with George Clooney was standard fair. The house band with Jon Batiste is a big winner and the closing music section was upbeat, happy and very well done.
The only parts of the show that dragged were about it being all about Stephen Colbert and his first night and that should be over by the end of the week.
The good news for us is that CBS [so far anyway] is allowing a few video clips from the show up on YOUTUBE. But not the opening monologue or the closing music spot which I am sure will be a nightly feature.
