Burger King introduced a burger, just in time for the San Francisco Gay Pride celebration 2014. Labeled ‘The Proud Whopper’ patrons struggled to pin down just what was different about the colorfully wrapped burger. While some people wanted nothing to do with a ‘gay’ burger, others dove in . Some thought it definitely tasted differently from the usual Whopper, while others couldn’t pinpoint anything unusual…Until, someone thought to read the wrapper.
When patrons finally found the answer in a message printed on the rainbow-like wrapper, most were surprised and delighted – and not a few shed tears – which had nothing to do with onions. Well done, Burger King!
