Y’all remember the hullabaloo with the Texas Taliban running the schools down here in Dumbutt. They go by the name of The Texas State Board of Education. Here is the first in a series of articles we did on this. The Face of the Texas Taliban, Cynthia Dunbar
The board took a bit of a hit recently when their creationist leader Dentist Don McElroy was voted down and replaced by a less offensive creationist. Though it now puts Mrs Dunbar on a higher poopie-box than she was before.
They recently gave up putting Intelligent Design into Texas biology books and are noe set upon removing liberals like Hispanic organizer Ceser Chavez from Texas history books. Books that will be read by an ever increasing number of Hispanics no less. They well be replacing the bad liberal icons with good conservative ones like, James Dobson, Phyllis Schlafly, Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich and Jerry Falwell. Back in 2007 these so called "people" with the help of the so called Texas "legislature" here in dumbutt mandated the study of the Bible in public schools. Though they prayed extensively to, about and for it, they forgot to either define it or fund it. They are not the sharpest knives in this squeaky drawer we call Texas. So today Texas Teachers are not sure what to do. Though most do understand that it a big opart of their job is to cram as much Jesus down their students throats as they can get away with. No matter what any Damn Yankee has to say about it, white or black! You betcha!
I have a couple friends in the Texas School system who both tell me that the teachers lounges’ are segregated by politics. On the crowded side [the vastly crowded side in rural and suburban Texas] there is not only an ornery pile of evangelical literature, but an even more ornery pile of loud evangelicals bragging about who crammed the most Jesus down their kids throats that morning.
Of course the minority side keeps quiet knowing only too well the violent armed nature of Texas Evangelicals. But on occasion these few human teachers will leave an old copy of the New York Times (they bought out of state) in the bathroom just to hear the rhythmic screams in beat to the constant flushing…
