Texas turning blue sooner than expected

Texas turning blue sooner than expected“A new poll shows Donald Trump only 6 points behind Hillary Clinton – a  Texas Public Policy Polling survey shows Democratic Presidential Nominee Clinton leading Trump by significant margins among non white voters and those under 65, Trump’s lead is based entirely on his holding a 63-33 advantage among seniors, with voters under 65, Clinton leads him 49-45 and when you look just specifically at voters under 45, Clinton leads Trump 60-35.”

The GOP lost Pennsylvania some years ago, then lost Virginia a few years after that, this year Florida and North Carolina have turned blue perhaps irreversibly and we could see Arizona, Georgia and Utah fall from their hands at least in this cycle. But their hold on Texas is the GOP’s biggest asset which other than the confederacy keeps them a viable political party, without Texas they are just dust in the wind.

Of course this election cycle is different and some states turning blue more on the Buffoon factor than on demography, but that is not the case in Texas, this overwhelming problem for Republicans is both demographic and generational and it is coming faster than anyone thought.  The fail for them can be partially put upon Donny One Inch, who has managed to get more young and minority voters registered than at any time in our history. A lasting effect.

The numbers show this generational issue not only their biggest problem here in Texas but nationally, so the question for them is how best to fix the game to their advantage.

The problem is that the obvious answer of increasing benefits and health care through Social Security and Medicare helps not just white people but everyone else live a little longer. And even if they did find a way to do make just white people live longer, it would only prolong the agony. But perhaps long enough to bring on Armageddon so it will not matter.

The GOP is not going to reach out to any minority, the party has worked very hard for 50 years to make themselves the White Party, it is their brand, which they should have thought twice about before burning it onto their foreheads. Neither can they seem to shed the social issues of religious intolerance regarding gays, abortion, birth control who those coming up reject handily.

So what’s left for them?  I noticed it in Kellyanne Conway’s first interview as Trump’s new campaign manager – BTW she joined the Trump campaign as a surrogate on July 1st –  with Chris Matthews. Her pivot to Hillary every time Trump is mentioned goes without saying, but there was one phrase she hit a couple times that finds the answer, Hillary fails with education by fighting against the freedom and liberty of school choice.

There you have it, you and I and everyone else should be funding religious indoctrination centers, another example of Christians making Sharia Law real by following the lead of Iran and the rest of the Muslim theocracies. School Choice runs headlong into the Constitution and is problematic for them, thus comes the rise of Christian book stores that are no longer really book stores but front ends for the Home Schooling crowd.
