The Republicans Six Big Lies about Universal healthcare

There are two reasons we are the only civilized nation without universal health care. First is that white people do now want to subsidize black people in any manner and secondly the Republican Party is immoral.

A personal example of what’s the matter with our healthcare system.

When I turned 65 I found that Medicare was taking $120 a month out of my Social Security to pay for Plan B. I called an independent health insurance agent to come by and talk about supplemental plans. She told me the best plan she had was from Cigna called Healthspring HMO. Instead of the SS deduction of $120 a month which went to Medicare it would go to Cigna instead. They pay the 20% Medicare deductibles and the copays and a truckload of other cost benefits. And most importantly all my doctors and hospitals were in the network as were most doctors and hospitals in Houston.

To me it seemed free as I never saw the $120 anyway so I asked what the catch was for it seemed too good to be true.

She said indeed it was a very good plan. But only because I happened to live in the right place, Houston. For most of the nation this is not available, in many places plans allow one or two doctors poorly rated and one hospital 100 miles away. It all came down to the roll of the die on where I lived. Health Insurance Federalism. Bad Idea.
