The denial for a stay of execution for Troy Davis can be summed up by these words from the US Supreme Court.
"The application for stay of execution of sentence of death presented to Justice Thomas and by him referred to the court is denied."
You see? Because a black man denied the stay of a black man, racism was neither a part of the prosecution, part of the unfairness of capital punishment or is any longer a factor in American society. And where and who is this joy in executions and denial of racism the strongest? Christian Evangelicals in the old Confederacy. Nothing Jesus likes more than strapping people down and injecting them with poison. They wrote a Gospel song about that, Oh Happy Day.
These Republicans know how to do these things very very well. Death Tax. Class Warfare. European Socialism. Pro Life (yeah right). Job Creators.American Exceptionalism. Reverse Racism. Political Correctness. And you add up all those dishonest little soundbites and they win here in the United States of Duh.
In fact they are so damn good at this kind of thing they have managed to turned the flat out insane lie, that government creates no jobs, into the truth. The amount of jobs the government creates is profound. Our troops, Pentagon, Congress, every contractor building a road, a jail, a rocket, a missile or a tank. Police, fire fighters, teachers, courts, DPS. Millions upon millions of jobs sustained and created by GOVERNMENT.
We no longer have any RICH people in America, they are now called JOB CREATORS. And now even any mention of tax hikes for the wealthy or corporations is CLASS WARFARE. What the Republicans need is some CLASS WARFARE up their ass.
