Trump Deals with Foreign Crises and Lies About Voter Fraud: A Closer Look

Seth Meyers revisits Trump’s weekend summit with Japan’s Prime Minister, national security breaches at Mar-a-Lago and Michael Flynn’s Moscow amnesia. Trump’s bizarre voter fraud lie takes on a useful new life as a dodge to extricate Trump from complicated topics that arise during meetings.

By now you know that Michael Flynn resigned this evening, which possibly explains why  Russian sanctions imposed by the Obama Administration were disappointing, in that they lacked the element of surprise. Flynn admitted to speaking to the Russian Ambassador five times, apparently about ‘nothing much.’ Mike Pence vouched for Flynn  This  leads us to wonder whether Flynn lied to Pence, or if Pence lied to us? Speaking of Evangelical V.P. Pence, Seth observes:”A LIE is just the truth that hasn’t gone through conversion therapy yet.”At the time of Seth’s filming the resignation had not yet taken place..But his part in this action was under question.

Trump’s frustration and inadequacy is taking a toll on aids, who are expected to provide one page briefs, no more than 9 bullet points, and lots of graphics and maps. ‘The President loves maps’ we’re told. If I may…Coloring is ‘a thing’ now. Add charts and maps that are fun to color, the POTUS will spend more time on important documents, and it will provide stress relief for Trump. For that matter, we all could use a new set of colored pencils!

Not to be missed!  White House Senior Policy Advisor Stephen Miller is the most chilling Trump spokes-mouth to come down the pike. There is something of the true believer and a maniacal gleam in his eye that causes me to expect him to announce plans to invade Poland tomorrow. Miller gleams when speaking of Trump’s awesome dictatorial – or presidential powers!

“Our opponents, the media and the whole world will soon see, as we begin to take further actions, that the powers of the President to protect our country are – very substantial and will not be questioned!

Seth quips that the only way this could be more terrifying is if he yelled it in German.
Seth: “By the way,  in case you’re wondering what being sinister does to you,. That guy is 31 years old, and he’s already 2/3 of the way to Montgomery Burns.”

Montgomery Burns is the cruel miser in ‘The Simpson’s’ – a man who makes Scrooge look generous and effervescent.
Stephen Miller  doesn’t have Monty’s warmth
