Seth Meyers takes a closer look at Donald Trump’s scary campaign aide Paul Manafort, and anualyzes his claim that Trump’s campaign persona has been an act so far. ‘Trump says it like it is’ and ‘Trump is REAL!’ Oops, better scratch that last one. Trump claims he can change anytime he likes, and that he will be changing ‘very rapidly!’ Stay tuned, we’re to expect a more presidential Trump…When he’s ready.The media has more than done their part. As Seth notes; “It’s genius. Trump set the bar so low that not calling Ted a liar is presidential!”
Seth’s report is encouraging, and humorous, and I need both right now. We’re reminded that Trump’s entire career has consisted of reinventing himself and manipulating the media. Does anyone remember the mysterious ‘John Barron’ who acted as a spokesman for the Mighty Trump in the eighties? If you don’t recall, Barron spoke in glowing terms of Mr. Trump’s projects, but did so over the phone only. Twitter had yet to be invented.
Seth sums up; “He created a fake persona to sell his products to an unsuspecting public, and now he’s doing the same thing to sell his s*** product again. Himself.”
