While Puerto Rico cries out for help, ‘Trump in Charge’ has ignored them, he continues to insult them, and – unbelievably is taking a victory lap for his “incredible results” It is still cringe-making to read Trump’s responses to appeals from the Mayor of San Juan. One such humanitarian message from Trump: “They want everything to be done for them when it should be a community effort.”
John Oliver: “You’ve got to hand it to Trump. Anybody can say racist things about Hispanics on a golden escalator, it takes real balls to do it while their fellow citizens are dying. Trump is basically saying ‘when hurricanes hit our people, they’re not hitting our best; they’re killing poors, they’re killing lazies and some, I assume are saying nice things about me.'”
For one golden moment we had hope. John called out the dancing girls the marching band, animal acts and unfurled a banner declaring “WE GOT HIM!” When you catch the president telling a whopper, that’s IT for him…Right? Not with this president, sadly. Next time, perhaps he’ll take the precaution of admitting a senator to the hospital before he uses that excuse again.
