Watching a lot of talking heads over the past week I noticed there was a political formula involved in this TSA business. The further to the Right (or Libertarian) the voice, the louder the screeching about it. Cooler Republican and conservative heads – along with upwards of 80% of Americans – brushed this issue off as pragmatic security best followed.
My suspicion increased knowing that the Law and Order Republicans are no friend at all of the 4th Amendment. Where do you think strip searching little girls in public schools came from? In fact during the conservative Gingrich Revolution in the 1990s, then Republican Congressman Bill McCollum from Florida managed to change the "probably cause" clause of the 4th Amendment to "Good faith of the police" in home, vehicle and body searches.
Good faith of the police… Gosh… About a quarter million cops each year commit felony perjury in our courtrooms mostly regarding this very 4th Amendment issue. In fact I contend that if the word "vehicles" were included in the 4th Amendment 1/3 of the people in prison would not be there.
I became even more suspicious when this the central thrust of both Fox News, talk radio, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh were spending hours a day, everyday for over a week, screeching about it. That being the case you can bet your last Bippy there is some ugly selfish bigoted purpose behind it. It is what they get paid more than $30 million a year to do. Let freedom ring, let the market soar like eagles!
But what finally clinched it for me was not the reports that John "touch my junk" Tyner seemed to fit the mold of a conservative activist, but when I saw local TV down here in Dumbutt have Ron Paul weigh in. I am so tuned to this creepy crawler I didn’t even need the sound on to hear what he had to say. I have been tuned into his insane crap now for the 30 years living only an armadillo spit away from the top Right-wing nutjob in American politics. And unlike so many, mostly Stoners, I am not fooled by what he is or what he stands for.
This TSA issue is about two things:
1) Privatizing the TSA (privatizing everything including public schools and Social Security) so our GOVERNMENT wife gropers and GOVERNMENT child molesters are all fired (notice what color most of them seem to be) and replaced by employees of White corporations such as Winchester, BP and ENRON, which will then make all the groping and molesting okay.
2) Putting an end of LIBERAL ACTIVIST COURT restrictions upon racial and religious profiling – not only in airport security but on the streets, in cars, homes, Arizona and at large as well.
Both issues were central to the Great White Wave Election of 2010 which the GOP will be riding to Hell and back. Its that "back" we need to stop.
