The show not only was the first to present a prime time fart lasting more than 60 seconds – thank you Peter – but followed up the next season with the most farts ever presented in a half hour show! Hear! Here! The fly on the wall heard it distinctly so long ago when Seth MacFarlane was 13 sitting in his bedroom one day. "When I grow up I want to put the longest and then the most farts on prime time TV as anyone has ever done before!" Now that’s success!
I watched that episode and realized it was the first time I had ever seen a retarded person presented as not only smarter, but better looking than the protagonist in the story, Chris Griffin.
I also noted that the voice actor was a Downs syndrome woman who shortly after it aired was very happy for the job and even happier to have the chance of showing herself in a positive setting among a family of true retards. I am sure most with Downs Syndrome would feel the same.
It indeed gives Sarah Palin a poke in the eye, just as it pokes everyone from everywhere in the eye.
