In 1984 John Stossel gave us an eye opening piece of journalism by informing us that professional wrestling was fake! OMG! Confronting wrestler David Schultz to tell him what his research had found he received two open hand slaps to the face and crawled away on the floor like the little rat he is.
At the time I first saw this I was not aware of what a right-wing lunatic he would become. Stossel sued wrestler David Schultz for those two open hand slaps. AFTER he won a half million dollar settlement he THEN became an advocate for tort reform railing against such lawsuits. Well lawsuits by common people against wealthy corporations and rich individuals anyway.
I recently read an article by John Stossel singing the praises of Singapore regarding health care. You remember Singapore where unions are outlawed, chewing gum is against the law and children are publicly whacked with a bamboo cane for the slightest infraction. A real ‘Libertarian’ nation state we need to emulate.
After years of watching him and his dishonest free market, deregulation, hate the American government as an advocate for the rich and powerful, I felt this urge I often suffer seeing Billy Kristol on Fox News Sunday. Grabbing them by their pointy little heads and giving them a hard knuckle rubbie. And hey, because they are both strong advocates for tort reform they wouldn’t dare sue me. Right?
John Stossel recently moved from ABC (got fired for being a dishonest right-wing nut job) to join Fox News as a contributor and Fox Business Network with a weekly show. That all played out much like CNN finally dumping Lou Dobbs. A couple of wingnuts going so far over the line they become an embarrassment to real network news organizations. Of course FOX NEWS is not a real news organization, it is a branch of the Republican Party that skews THE NEWS to the Tea Bag Right.
John Stossel pushed his radical right-wing Libertarianism on ABC’s 20/20 for a generation. He was so reviled by ABC news department (except of course by Brit Hume who also moved from ABC to Fox News) that the late ABC anchor Peter Jennings refused to not only NEVER speak to him, but would not even look at him. And poor Barbara Walters doing all she could to not roll her eyes when she introduced his silly segments on 20/20.
