Cartoonist Daryl Cagle is no fan of President Obama but he is hard to pin down politically, so I am not sure what to make of this cartoon other than it instead of Obama standing there not knowing what to do, it should depict the GOP with an Israeli flag jumping feet first into that horrible mess of sectarian religious violence.
So what seems to be going is pretty much the same thing that went on in Europe 500 years ago and lasted almost 200 years. Damn that Martin Luther anyway. So if we assume the trouble in the Middle East began in 1948 we can expect the Sunni / Shiite thing to end fairly soon, in about 2150 or so. And hey, the United States has only been militarily involved now for 14 years, we have only 136 more years to go.
28th Amendment: Any citizen of the United States between the ages of 18 and 80 who talks up going to war, must be the first to go to war.
