Why Donald Trump’s John Miller Charade Matters – Seth Meyers

Why Donald Trump's John Miller Charade Matters - Seth Meyers

Seth Meyers examines why Donald Trump’s penchant for posing as his own publicist (John Miller) is important evidence to Americans, that Trump lacks accountability – and that he’s batsh*t crazy too.  We were warned. Carla Bruni, the model whom  ‘Trump’s spokesman’ claimed Trump was dating on the controversial tape, said of the romantic story – “Trump is obviously a lunatic.”  It takes the American people longer to figure these things out.

According to Politifact – or your own eyes, Trump is lying 76% of the time. John Miller or John Barron may make up the other 24%.  Lying is nothing new for Trump. He admitted to using the name John Miller to talk with news sources. Now – in an alternative reality, he says it’s all news to him! Recently Trump said he saw ISIS flags on the cell phones carried by Syrian refugees! Did he see them with the same eyes which saw American Muslims celebrating on 9-11? These things matter, because people believe him.

The importance of the John Miller episode is that it points to Trump’s pattern of building a character to sell his product – himself. Initially, he sold himself as  a self-funding outsider who is not beholden to big banks like Goldman Sachs.                  But now that he has the nomination, Trump is everything he stood against!  The outsider – was just another worthless product like Trump University. Now that Trump has the nomination he has dumped every one of those promises.

The faithful still rally for Trump. I get the feeling this is their first political rodeo – or day pass. They are certain that he will grab the White House and return to them, victorious.  Prepare – we may hear of him climbing a tower, swatting at jets with one hand and holding a glamorous girl in the other.  As Seth supposes, it will undoubtedly be Beyonce’.
