Why Some Veterans Groups Refuse Money From Donald Trump

Some Veteran’s groups are accusing Donald Trump of using Veterans as human shields to cover his fear of Megyn Kelly, and believe that he’s leveraging Vets for his own political gain. Today as Trump brags about the $6 Million dollars raised at his alternative event, held at the same time as the Republican debate last night, he appears to be passing off the idea that his civic virtue is much bigger than his childish and  petty behavior.

The Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America announced early yesterday that the group will not accept any proceeds from Trump’s event. They tweeted ‘Veterans need strong policies from candidates not to be used for political stunts.’  Hold the phone! The Afghanistan Veterans of America doesn’t have to worry about accepting Trump’s largess. The latest word is that Trump’s goodwill in cash form  will focus upon Iowa Veterans. What a guy!

Trump is on shaky ground with Vets anyway due to his service to the country, or rather the lack of it.  Trump received four separate education deferments, he then received a medical deferment which allowed him to sit out the Vietnam War while his fellow countrymen served.
