The universal politic has declared WikiLeaks: Treason, sedition, unAmerican, diplomatic suicide, a gateway to terrorism, a security issue, murderous, wrong, bad, disgusting, horrible and of course, evil.
A few of you may recall the deja vu factor in all this. The Pentagon Papers leaked by Daniel Ellsberg 40 years ago which became the biggest step in changing Americans attitude toward the War in Vietnam, and PUTTING A STOP TO IT! Ellsberg at the time was called The Most Dangerous Man in America. In retaliation the Nixon Administration hired a gang of burglars led by G. You know damn well where this is going. A whole new set of Republican House unAmerican Activities investigations into the White House and every Democrat in Homeland Security. The heads of Janet Nepolitano and Leon Panetta will be on Republican plates by Spring at the latest.
Since the new batch of WikiLeaks came out over the weekend I have yet to hear anyone address the issue at hand. The American involvement in corrupt diplomacy, dirty wars, unnecessary death, unconscionable torture, undue carnage, vindictive murder and so much enjoyable collateral damage it should make you retch.
But no, that’s not what it’s about at all, rather it is all about poor military security, keeping the lame stream media in the dark, putting some Army Private in jail for the rest of his life and tracking down a Swedish citizen for war crimes. Nothing at all about the purpose of WikiLeaks, which is for EVERYONE to take a good hard look at our corrupt violent nature and the futility of war and violence which makes US as bad as THEM.
Our wars have become the Devil’s Work, most loudly promoted by American Evangelical Christianity. What an ugly joke Americans have made of Jesus Christ. It is beyond disgusting. The executed as the impetus for executions. The Prince of Peace as the Jack of War. The Lord of Love as the impetus for all that Tea Party Hate. The advocate for the poor is now the God of Wall Street. An NRA Jesus, white, wealthy, armed and dangerous hoping to find some children to slap around. Kick! The Religion pages.
