CBS No more clips from Late Show with Stephen Colbert

So it seems CBS uploading clips to Youtube from the Late Show with Stephen Colbert with no ads was indeed too good to be true, for not only has that been replaced with CBS pay subscription links, but neither are video clips presented on the Late Show website. Anyone uploading any of it to Youtube not only gets it removed, but loss of their Youtube account in not a few cases as CBS is full press it seems.

There is always the specter of speaking too soon in this medium, but I have given this a week before posting this. Maybe someone can prove me wrong?

But no matter, Colbert lost his political edge moving to satisfy mass media late night audiences which leaves us with Larry Wilmore as the goto guy for kickass politics. I also wonder if Fox News and Trevor Noah agreed to some HANDS OFF FOX document?

Add to that most every corporate website pushing loud full screen video popups to every click and turning on autoplay for everything, I find myself with a browser full of blaring tabs. All of which creates ever more reason for adblocking, which in turn means soon the internet will go the way of everything else, complete corporate control squeezing out any hope of little guys like us able to hang on.

We were a member of a liberal blogad consortium for many years. Of the 200 sites that we began with only 31 remain. The rest are gone no longer able to generate enough ad money to cover the hosting.

Using only the low key Google Adsense here on Kick! in the last year and a half we have lost 80% of revenues. Though the beer money is long gone we do still have our head above water.

Oh sure we understand how Facebook, Twitter and Mobile have decimated the website universe but this over the top autoplay advertising is the last straw.

Even Google Adsense, the biggest advertiser in the world, in fact bigger than all advertisers combined, does not let me or anyone choose not to present autoplay videos. So it’s now everywhere you go. Most TV station and newspaper websites are now forcing multiple autoplay ads and news videos. ENOUGH! STOP IT!
